Life’s a Beach

Much of Boca Raton’s identity is tied to its beautiful beaches. From the wide-open shoreline of the 1890s to the glamorous days of the Cabana Club, our coast has played an important role in shaping the community we know today.

Life’s a Beach explores the evolution of Boca Raton’s coastline and the beach culture that helped transform our city into one of Florida’s best-known resort communities.

Through historic photomurals, vintage swimwear, artifacts, and memorabilia from the Boca Raton Historical Society’s collections, visitors will discover more than a century of life by the sea, from Boca’s earliest days to the rise

of beachfront resorts, recreation, and the coastal lifestyle that became synonymous with Boca Raton.
