We were delighted to welcome residents of John Knox Village to The Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum for a guided journey through our community’s past. Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the Life Enrichment Department for organizing the visit and making local history part of its outings.
The tour introduced residents to the stories behind Boca Raton’s transformation—from an early farming community connected by Henry Flagler’s railroad to a destination shaped by Addison Mizner’s architectural vision. The group also explored the city’s role in World War II radar training, its connection to the IBM Personal Computer, and Florida’s colonial past through The 14th Colony exhibit.
It was a pleasure to share these stories with our neighbors from John Knox Village. Group visits are a wonderful opportunity to explore together, ask questions, and discover connections between the places we know today and the people who helped shape them.
